Jesus is the Gift that Keeps On Giving

Jesus the ultimate gift

Jesus is the gift that never gets stale, doesn’t go out of style, and the batteries never die.  A gift something that is given from one person to another.  John 3:16 Many of you are familiar with the scripture even sports fan are aware of this acknowledgment of the gift.  Eph 4:7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of Christ’s gift.    We are talking about Christ”mas” with times being what they are and the economic down falls we face a reason to reach for the true meaning all of a sudden.  No one really wants to reflect on this season because of the financial struggles we are enduring and our error in celebratory antiques associated with the season; but this season is not simply about buying, overspending and going into debt.  We have gotten away from the true meaning of Christmas, simply because we have removed Christ out of Christmas.

Minister Rice reminded us that many are appearing to imitate the Dr Suess character “The Grinch that stole Christmas,” in this fairy tale the grinch came and took all the gifts while the people of “Wholand” slept.  The people woke up the next day and there were no gifts.  Yet, with the gifts gone the people were forced to focus on the true meaning of the special occasion and gathered themselves without  gifts and began to celebrate Christmas.  Saints and non-believers do not go out and get yourself in debt, tell your family you love them and that is actually according to scripture all you owe any man Romans 13:8.

Learn how to turn things over to God.  We may not always have what we want , but that is no reason for us to move our minds from God.  Do something for God because he is God, because you are breathing, because you are in your right mind. Simply confessing that you know Jesus to someone could witness to a lost soul or inspire someone worse of than yourself.    Many believe in God but they don’t trust God enough to let go and let Him handle your issues.  We encourage you today to trust God, earnestly seek God, pray or cry out to Him and give Him the praise that He surely deserves.

Once you are saved it does not give you the right not to seek God because you are not feeling well.  If you are able to feel anything give God praise.  The presence of the Lord is here are you asking for His presence in your life everyday.  That is what this gift of Jesus is all about He is greatest gift that continues to give to you everyday.  Teach your children the true reason for the season.

Joy is in the presence of God not to be confused with happiness.  Happiness is measured according to a persons view of satisfaction.  Therefore happiness will change according to each persons perspective of what happiness is in their mind.  But, joy is deeper seeded, if you do not have joy today seek God’s presence and allow the joy of the Lord to be your strength.  We must understand the importance of peace in our hearts. Say the word slowly with me now P-E-A-C-E .   The grace of God is a gift.  The gift is the wages of sin is death and now we do not have to die and go to Hell, Jesus paid with His blood for those who believe.  The act of baptism is a symbolic burial of sins.  This ritual often follows a persons acceptance of Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.   When an individual arises from the baptismal waters they  symbolically rise up purified of their sins solely by their belief in Jesus dying for our sins.  Once this is complete off we go living a redeemed life and receiving your gift by faith everyday afterwards.

Jesus never puts more on us than we can bear. Jesus lived through the suffering, rejection and pain He felt it.  God sent his Son to aid the sick and feed those that were hungry.  Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and these others things will be added unto you.  Choose this day whom you will serve.  Remember the gift of life, repentance, grace, healing, deliverance and joy are the real advantages of the gift of Jesus Christ.  It is not the physical attributes of a tangible, store-bought gift that will sustain you.  The big pretty box will not always be the best of the best, but the gift that God has for you is ETERNAL, the Holy Spirit, never-ending, everlasting.  My My My!

Have a Joyous Christmas

  1. I know this is a holiday post, but as the title states. Jesus should be honored everyday. The gift He gave is in effect in our Christian lives each and everyday. This is the first quarter of the year and I thought I would remind you as we approach Ressurection Sunday of His awesome Gift. Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna in the highest.

    God Bless!
