June is Relationship Month

The topic of discussion for the month of June is “Relationships”

How often do you choose to have loving relationships with everyone around you and still fail?

Do you wish to please everyone who is associated to you and still unable to do so?

Despite your good nature, you end up getting betrayed and used by those whom you trust. Why?

You make relationships hoping to convert into a successful marriage, but eventually the relationship fails or the marriage falls apart! Why?

If the above questions have been bothering you, read on to find out the reason.

First of all get in agreement that the Bible is a true book. The laws, rules and the love of God it teaches from the basis of our existence. It is not only a book, but the living word of God Almighty.

  • We try to make sound, loving relationships with people in many ways – our family, colleagues at work,  girlfriends, boyfriends, spouse and so on.

However, the Bible says “God created man, male and female, in His own image” Genesis 1:27

Before you go ahead making any relationships, just think and ask yourself “Do I have a relationship with God? Is Christ the focus of my life?” If not, then allow Christ to sit on the throne of your life. Give Him the control of your thoughts, actions and speech. Ask Him for His Spirit and let the Spirit guide you in all you do, even before making new relationships.

  • Seek God’s will:  We must seek God’s will in every decision of our lives, not what is pleasing to our own eyes.
  • Very often, our focus remains to please people.

But, the bible says in Ecclesiastes 2:26: “To the person who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness”

You must ask this question to yourself that before you try to please other people, is the One who created you pleased with you? Before thinking of reconciliation with others, are you reconciled with God who created you?

Today, many relationships are broken and sour and lives are devastated with broken hearts, because we do not let God come in to our lives and do not seek His will. We do not allow Him to heal our broken hearts. Instead, we find new ways to come out of our failures, by indulging into things that we should not be doing. We make new, artificial relationships just to come out of the previous one, leaving us annoyed, hopeless and full of sorrow. That is certainly not God’s plan for you. Our God is a God of peace and fulfillment.

So, the first step to a happy life with sound and loving relationships is to have a relationship with Jesus. If you do not have a relationship with Him yet, ask Him to come into your heart and take the control of every area of your life. Believe that Jesus died for your sins and was raised from the dead and ascended into the heaven. Confess all your sins to Him; ask Him to give you His Spirit for guiding your future actions. Finish the prayer by thanking Him with faith and maintain this relationship by talking to Him everyday, telling Him your problems, your weaknesses or anything that bothers you. Nurture this relationship. Read the Bible, grow in Him everyday!

Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding”

When we try to fix problems based on our own understanding and not according to God’s ways, we tend to worsen the situation. Just wait on God. Submit to Him in all you do. He will change you. He will give you a new heart and a new mind. The Lord is capable of everything. He will fix your relationships, He will put you right with others, but for that to happen you need to be put right with God first. And that can happen only through a righteous man – Jesus Christ. Make Him your Lord and Savior.

And soon, you will experience that you actually do not have to please anyone, because you have pleased God through Jesus! He is on your side, so situations and people automatically turn in your favour. Praise God for His love and mercy.

God bless you abundantly.
