Messianic Task: BEYOND THE SUNDAY SCHOOL

The Scrolls

Zep 3:20

At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you: for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith the LORD.

The remnant is returning to the land, the sentence that YHWH placed upon the Israelites (our ancestors) that He scattered abroad has complete its term.   As He promised according to His word the He will cause the remnant to return.  The Lost 10 Tribes of Israel are returning to the land, but before they can return to the Land they must return to the truth and understanding of YHWH’s reign in their lives.  The studying of the Torah has set my soul a blaze again.  Many continue to stand off from a distance believing some strange thing has come upon us.  The truth of the matter is, something has taken hold of us,  it is not strange but an answer to our cries of wholeness.

Where is the Torah found? holy-bible  Yes, the Torah is in the Bible.  The same Bible you study from every Wednesday for all the Bible Study faithfuls, and every Sunday for the Sunday School goers is the Torah.  Therefore, it is amazing that because the word Torah is possibly a word that you are not familiar with you believe it is worship of another God or faith.  The Torah helps us to know how to live this Kingdom lifestyle that many of the preachers are encouraging the body of Christ to live in.  The irony about this great push to live a Kingdom lifestyle is that it is impossible to do so without gaining the understanding of the Word, Spirit and Torah of YHWH (our God).  The God that the Sunday worshippers claim to worship informed us that we are the just that live by faith as our Father Abraham.

It is extremely confusing to hear a preacher say, “we are no longer under the law.”  This statement confuses me because it is a generalization that the Torah or the Old Testament is the law.   The conflict of interest enters in when we gallantly proclaim the blessing of Abraham.  How can one proclaim the blessings of Abraham when they do not serve the God of Abraham.   Yet, the Sunday worshippers will say that they do worship the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.  I know their responses because I used to be them and used the same responses.  The light was shed in the nooks and crannies of my heart that always wondered how that worked.  The Old Testament was always taught to me to be the “School Master” or the “Master Teacher,”  that was my upbringing in Michigan A.M.E. regions of the body of Christ.  Overtime, I discovered there are various levels of understanding around the circumference of Christianity that imposes a danger of error in our studies.   Like Paul, I am convinced, that there is no way we can proclaim to follow Jesus Christ (Yeshua HaMaschiach), reap the benefits of his shed blood and resurrection as Christ Jesus and simultaneously reject the star and focus of His lifetime studies.

The TANAKH (Old Testament) holds all of Jesus’ proclamations and witnesses,  The TORAH is who He proclaimed to be, the Word wrapped in flesh.

Jhn 1:14

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

When Yeshua tells us, “when you see me you see the Father,” or ” I AM the way the Truth and the Light,” and  “Lo, I come in the volume of the book,” He is proclaiming to be The Torah.  The Torah is where the Creator originally speaks and allows His voice to guide us in how we are to conduct ourselves, and the characteristics of Yeshua.   The Prophets and the Writings categorized in the Old Testament (TANAKH) are inspired by the Spirit to repeat what YHWH has already said, with the prophetic forecasts of its unfolding as the Spirit gives them utterance.  The three letter term law misrepresents the TORAH as a forced book of regulations.  The true meaning of Torah (Law) is YHWH’s (our God’s) teaching and instruction, and let me say as a professional student of life and academia this is the beginning of my “ahha moment,” with a great moment of ,”exhale” that I have searched and waited for.
